Protect Yourself from Donation Scams
Digital scams targeting churches and charities are unfortunately common. We will never ask you for donations, gift cards, passwords, or personal financial information by email, text message, or social media.
All financial donations to Trinity-Clifton United Church are made through:
- CanadaHelps
- In person at the church office
- Interac e-Transfer to [email protected]
If you receive a message claiming to be from the church or a staff member and you’re unsure whether it’s legitimate, please call the church office at (902) 892-4114 before responding or sending money.
Gift cards sold by the church are part of an ongoing fundraising program and are only available for purchase in person through the church office or after Sunday worship.
If you believe you’ve been targeted by a scam, we encourage you to contact your local police and report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
Tax Receipts
All donations made through CanadaHelps, weekly envelopes, PAR, or e-Transfer are eligible for tax receipts. CanadaHelps provides instant receipts, while other methods receive year-end tax receipts from our church.
