Our Beliefs
As part of the United Church of Canada, we are grounded in the Gospel and committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive community for all.
Our Core Values
Welcoming to All
We strive to create a community where everyone is seen, known, and loved. Our doors and hearts are open to people of all backgrounds, identities, and life experiences.
Grounded in the Gospel
Our faith community is shaped by Jesus’ good news of love, justice, and hope. We seek to follow Christ’s example in all we do.
Growing as Disciples
We prioritize relationships and personal growth, supporting each other as we become more like Jesus through study, prayer, and service.
Our Vision
“We are a joyful, welcoming, inclusive Christ-centered community of faith, reaching out to others, providing a safe space where we respect differences. We learn from the past and dare to change.”
Our Mission
The mission of Trinity-Clifton is to worship Jesus Christ, educate members in the ways of Christian Faith, provide pastoral care to the congregation and community, and be a witness to Jesus Christ in word and deed in the community.
Our motto: “Have Faith in God”
A New Creed
We are not alone,
we live in God’s world.
We believe in God:
who has created and is creating,
who has come in Jesus,
the Word made flesh,
to reconcile and make new,
who works in us and others
by the Spirit.
We trust in God.
We are called to be the Church:
to celebrate God’s presence,
to live with respect in Creation,
to love and serve others,
to seek justice and resist evil,
to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen,
our judge and our hope.
In life, in death, in life beyond death,
God is with us.
We are not alone.
Thanks be to God.

Part of the United Church of Canada
Our Heritage
The United Church of Canada was formed in 1925 through the union of Methodist, Congregational, and Presbyterian churches. We continue this tradition of bringing diverse Christian traditions together.
Progressive Faith
We believe in a living faith that engages with contemporary issues. The United Church was the first major denomination in Canada to ordain women and affirm LGBTQ+ inclusion.
Social Justice
Following Jesus’ example, we are committed to justice, peace, and the integrity of creation. We actively work for reconciliation and social change.
An Affirming Congregation
All Are Welcome
Trinity-Clifton is committed to being an Affirming congregation, meaning we explicitly welcome and affirm people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, ages, races, abilities, and economic circumstances.
We believe that God’s love is for everyone, and our church community reflects that radical welcome.
